Ridge Road Recreational Park is an 80 acre park located at the intersection of three roads in Germantown, Maryland. The park was designed to be reminiscent of an old estate. The buildings were designed as stables complete with gates and cupolas. The park was designed to protect the environment, save forests, provide ADA access to all facilities and offer a wide range of recreation facilities. Facilities include in-line hockey rink, two softball fields, baseball field, soccer field, playground, tennis and basketball courts, sand volley ball pit, restrooms, picnic shelters, restroom changing room, and trails (including a regional loop trail system). The plan preserved a site for future building.
G. E. Fielder & Associates, Chartered was the prime, providing landscape architecture, environmental and on-site engineering from construction documents to final punch list. The lead designer for the original concepts was Grace Fielder, ASLA, AICP, CPSI.
